The Long-Awaited Answer to the Riddle

The Castle Scribes are returning from distant lands and even more distant assignments. It seems they have all been Out for over a year and the great negligence is discovered that a mystery was left unexplained. They shall all face judgement before the King, let the public be assured.

Mermaids are ficticious as Ciona knows more than anyone. Then hint then gifted more than a year ago had to do with the Mermaids' domain, if they were not ficticious, which they obviously are.
