The Trouble with Not Sleeping enough

It is suspected that a Beauty-Sleep was overcoming the Princess that might explain the sudden rush of activity and the accompanying sense of urgency.

For starters, the Princess decided to decorate the floor in increasing circles of "rose petals" in the shape of soda crackers. They are so fun to jump on and smoosh, too, with a satisfying crackle. While the two attendents were called upon to gather these "petals" quickly, more were spread with such an enjoyable giggle, that we have to conclude there was some forethought and purpose to the Princesses actions. This is a sobering thought throughout the castle.

As the Petal Containment was achieved and all supposed order was restored, there was a surprised hollar down the hall towards the children's quarters! Having worked up a real thirst, the Princess had found her favorite sweet nectar... "Jooos!" and having wetted her tongue, spread the joy down the afore-mentioned hallway! She spread the red tinted joy to the left and to the right so that it dripped luxuriously down the wall and puddled on the polished floors. The outcry had arisen when she entered her brothers' suite still drizzling beloved Jooos.

The entire Royal Day was notably exhausting as our sweet Princess jumped and danced and grabbed other people's treasures and ran (even the King was not imune to her attentions!). She refused to rest come evening, even after reading books to beloved puppies and bears. Not even organization of her audience would tempt her to pause long enough for sweet sleep to overtake her. That is how we all came to the conclusion that it was a "Beauty-Sleep", which, as everyone knows, is a specific sleep that Princesses both dread and require. Since Sleeping Beauty, herself, was under such a deep sleep for so long, Princesses everywhere are very suspicious and relunctant to submit, perhaps in fear of enchantment. It was a very late hour when the Castle quieted enough to allow rest for all who call it "home."

Good Prickly News!

Our Animated Prince of Great Activity had a very successful day today. "We only expected three", he shared with us. In his box he had carefully laid his brand new T-shirt upon which sat Porky the Porcupine. Porky had given birth to baby porcupines in the last couple weeks and they had grown big enough to find homes today. He had been surprised because, having only expected three, TEN is a lot of baby porcupines!!!! It has taken him all day to find them homes around the house and amongst the family. As Queen Mother, I took on three of the tiny things myself. I am hoping they will grow into healthy, happy Porcupines like their Momma. (Since they are imaginary, they are both easier AND more difficult to take care of, keep track of, etc, etc. Already mine escaped the box and had to be found and returned to safe-keeping.)

The Scented Dance

The Princess, it seems, has natural talent for dancing. A beautiful dress adds to the inspiration so that impromptu leg kicks and twirls are quite natural and becoming.

Such beauty requires sweet smells. Naturally. And butterfly hair pieces. Of course.

A certain white whicker basket has treasures that had remained undiscovered 'til today. On this notable day, the contents of said basket were slowly emptied and examined with great delight by the young princess. Such sweet smelling treasures! There were exfoliating scrubs and bubble baths and lotions... three different kinds of lotions! The Princess brought the first choice to her Queen Momma, a purple lavender blend, who applied the smallest dab on the Princess's delicate hands and dabbed some on her own hands so that mother and daughter were rubbing their hands in delightful purple scented glee. Then, while her Momma wasn't paying as close attention, the Princess examined the other contents in the basket. The littlest bottles of pink and white lotions were easily opened, smelled and dabs extracted. Well, the Princess had meant to extract dabs, but when her Momma visited her she was quite "drenched". Her hands were thickly coated (to be the more smooth, you know) and the dabs applied more to the hardwood floor in the Grand Hallway. There were a few dabs in the Royal Bed Chamber, too, upon closer examination. Most importantly, the Royal Dwelling smells Deliciously Scented with rich lotions and the Princess has the softest of hands to go dancing with.
